Blume Baking Bash
This weekend the two Blume families got together and made Christmas cookies, like we do every year the first weekend in December. It was really nice having Saffron's help this year, she was really into making the cookies pretty and unique to her. I can't wait till Sebastian grows up, and is able to join in on the fun. Here are a few of the many pictures I took this weekend.
As always there are always plenty of sprinkles to decorate the cookies!
We decided to do the easy Christmas goodies first, and one of Saffron's favorite, white chocolate filled pretzels!
"These sure look good.....I can't wait to put these into my tummy!"
Daddy sneaking a peak at the ladies in the kitchen.....
"Armed and ready with sprinkles Grandma, bring on the cookie dough!"
I really get into decorating cookies and can get quite creative, but this year I held back and let Saffron do all the work, and she had a blast!

Notice she loves using mounds, and mounds of sprinkles!

One of many pans of cookies that went into the oven that day....
"Keep the trays coming Grandma.....these sprinkles need a home!"
"We need to do this every month, not just at Christmas!"
Saffron really liked using the little shakers, she found them easier to use then the big containers!
"Hey Grandpa wanna try our tasty creations??"
"Hey Grandpa watch me......."
They all turned out so tasty.......
Saffron waiting so patiently for a cookie to cool down.....
Saffron really got a kick out of the cut outs....and seeing all the neat shapes Grandma made her to decorate!

and here is Sneaky Saffron snagging cookies when she thinks no one is looking

I tried to get a nice picture for our cards this year....
this is the best one I got....
Oh well....
Happy Holidays!

Mushy Monday
It's not very often I find Saffron and Sebastian playing well together. Usually Sebastian seems to get on Saffron nerves. He means well, but she at times likes to take all the toys for herself, and can get pushy. I told Saffron to play nice with Sebastian while I cleaned the kitchen. I went into Sebastian's room, and found them playing Barbies. They played in there for over an hour. Was nice to see them playing quietly and so nice for so long!

It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas
We put up our tree last week, and just now able to write a blog about it. Derek came home after work and decided we should put the tree up, since we would be busy this weekend making cookies. Saffron was fast asleep on the couch when we first started. Derek had the tree just about up before we woke her up. She was so surprised to see it up, it did not take her too long before she joined in on the fun! Sebastian was there to help out in the beginning, then he got too tired so I laid him down. I'm sure that next year he will be right next to his sister putting the ornaments on the tree and not just taking them off!
Little does she know.....that Santa's tree is going up right across from where she is sleeping...........
"WOW mom, what are all these shiny new things???"
"Sebastian these are our Christmas ornaments, they will go onto the tree once daddy puts it up!"
"One of my Christmas stars mommie!"
Saffron had so much fun opening all the boxes of ornaments, and I was surprised she had remembered some of them from last year!
Sebastian standing guard and making sure daddy does a good job
Notice how she's only decorating the very, very bottom!
"Oh, these are my favorite ones mommy, look how pretty they are!"
Notice the middle of the tree is completely bare!
"Look at the good job I did mom....the tree is so beautiful!"
A close up of Saffron's decorating skills!
After all the ornaments were on the tree I went back and made sure all the ones that might break were out of little hands reach, and then proceeded to spread out the ornaments a little....
"So how does it look ma??"
"Yawn.....I think it's time I go to bed mom!"
And our very special ornament we place on our tree every year to remember our two angle babies who can't be with us...
you will remain in our hearts always......
"Happy Holidays!!"
