This past week the Blume families loaded up their cars and headed North into the beautiful land of Door County. On the way up mom and dad Blume took Saffron, while we took the dogs and Sebastian. We had decided that since Tina was still on the mend, we'd keep them closer to us in case we needed to go and get her. So we chose a kennel only 9miles from the resort we were staying at. Although we missed the dogs, there were other forms of wild life to play with!
Saffron feeding the baby lambs with a bottle...as you can tell they are super thirsty!
Even Sebastian was able to get up close and personal, but even the dogs jump on him at home, so he just giggled at the site of these babies!
Our vacation home, was just like a home away from home....no ruffing it here. We had two large bedrooms, a kitchen, two bathrooms, dinning room, living room, sun porch, deck, one car garage, indoor and out door pools, and golf for the guys! I was not expecting such a lavish home as the one we stayed in....sure was hard to walk away from it after the 5 days.
"Hum....stairway to heaven, or another big floor for me to explore?"
The first day we arrived at the vacation home, we all just took it easy, it had been a long day of traveling, so we were all pretty tired to do much of anything but relax! We enjoyed some tasty homemade chili and a few games of cards. Then off to bed for the new adventures that soon awaited us the next day. Since Monday was going to be one of the warmest days of our vacation, we decided to take a drive and visit some of the local beaches and check out the beautiful scenery.
Sebastian first feel of the cold water.....
Unlike the beach we visited just before this, the water was a little more wavy, and it took Saffron while to get close enough without the assistance of a Super G!
We enjoyed a tasty picnic lunch before taking a long scenic road back to the vacation home. We went out for supper later that evening to The Cooper's Corner. The food their was very, very good!
The next day we decided to take a trolly ride and get a little historical background on the area. Sebastian was none too thrilled, but Saffron was having a blast, and fell asleep just as the tour was ending, here are a few pictures I took......
"Wake me up when it's over.....I got some beauty sleep to catch up on."
"Come on people, lets get this train-a-rolling......"
I did not take as many pictures on this tour as I wanted, so many neat things to look at, and listen too......but everyone had a great time!
On our last day of vacation, we visited a family farm for Saffron and Sebastian. Saffron got to meet some of her favorite animals, and even feed them. I hope to be able to take her to another one soon.
I guess the farm trains it's animals to be the welcoming comity....or are they on the look out for free food?
"Hey mom.....looks at these, Saffie sized pets!"
"Hey mom, can I keep these.....please?"
Saffron enjoyed feeding corn to all the little animals....
"Okay dad......um these animals look bigger when you are up in the air like this....."
"Come here good looking......"
Very last thing we did was use our admittance tickets to purchase bottles to feed the baby Lambs, Saffie had a blast!
"Hey you, slow down.....you'll get a belly ache!"
We all had a great time on our vacation, and thank our parents so much for taking us.....I hope to be able to plan another family vacation like this again next Summer. With the kids being older such be interesting to see what happens!
Till next time.....
